My sweet toddler, I want you to know that you are so loved.
There are days when you are sparkling with energy and I feel like I can barely open my eyes to pour coffee into my cup. But I want you to know that you are so loved.
There are days when my hands are so full that I physically can’t hold you to give you comfort. But I want you to know that you are so loved.
There are days when your behavior outweighs my patience and time-out becomes a space of tears and heartache for us both. But I want you to know that you are so loved.
There are sweet moments that go unnoticed because I’m preoccupied with your baby brother. But I want you to know that you are so loved.
There are days when I can barely put one foot in front of the other, the house is a mess, you ate chips for every meal, and you wore your pjs all day. But I want you to know you are so loved.
There are nights when I put you to bed screaming because all you want is to sleep with Mommy + Daddy (and some nights I want that too). But I want you to know you are so loved.
There are days when I need someone else to take care of you because Mommy just needs a break and some time to herself. But I want you to know that you are so loved.
There are days when I lock the door so that I can have 5 minutes of peace and quiet and go to the bathroom by myself. But I want you to know you are so loved.
There are days when you see me crying because I feel like I’ve failed you. But I want you to know you are so loved.
There are days when you fall down and I don’t catch you. But I want you to know you are so loved.
There are days when I feel less-than a good mom to you because I’ve spent the day raising my voice and giving spankings. But I want you to know you are so loved.
There are days when you wake up and I’m already looking forward to bedtime. But I want you to know you are so loved.
There are days that you cry and nothing I do or say seems to help you. But I want you to know you are so loved.
My sweet toddler, I don’t always do the right things. I make mistakes. I’m an imperfect Mama. I feel like I fail you every. single. day. But I want you to know that every morning when I rise I choose to give you my very best and I choose to keep going and I choose to never give up on you.
You are so loved.
